I went to the Portland International Auto Show yesterday. As I was leaving the Land Rover display, I overheard a gentleman telling his son "If you compare comparable options with the Discovery to the Durango, the Durango is the better truck for the money".

I was kicking myself for not having the pictures developed and with me of the outting I had just done the day before (full articulation, water over the hood, etc.). I could then have shown him the pictures and said "This is what the Discovery is made for, not for your grocery getting!"

I think that of the NA trucks, Dodge probably has the best fullsize offerings for offroad (and I probably see more of them in the desert back country than Chevys & Fords combined), but comparing Disco to Durango (with front IFS) is apples to oranges - different vehicles with different purposes.

I had a chat with some people over here who do the worm drive-push button conversion kit for DII to allow CDL to be used - interestingly despite that he was looking at loosing a A$2000 sale, he agreed with my dealer service manager that it could cause drivetrain dramas because of incompatable software on the ETC, as compared to the Defender Extreme that has both, and the software "tuned" for it. He said however that his kit has the option of stopping the engine and then engaging diff lock that would

I would love to lead next time Brit, once I get some new tires :-). I had a bit of water over my hood when I first went in the puddle, but not near the extent of what you did.
