does this mean it has oil or the one shot grease

also do they chek fluid level in the swivel houseing during a 60k service

The dabs of paint probably have little to no bearing on the presence/absence of grease versus oil.

There may be a sticker on the radiator mount indicating grease was put in, but I don't know if this is the case if it was factory. If your swivel doesn't have the drain plug, it most likely has grease.

As for checking the level, my brother in law had his truck serviced at the local Mercedes dealer where he bought the truck and where they told him they were knowledgable about Rovers... $1,000 worth of overseas purchased wholesale priced parts later, I rebuilt the enitre front end of his truck after one of the CVs exploded as a result of having been run dry, we realized they weren't as knowledgable as they claimed. Wise Rover owners check their swivel lube regularly. Really good ones change it often.
