I want to take out the passenger side rear cargo compartment in a 2000 DII and replace it with an Infinity Basslink. I saw some pics in the tech section of a subwoofer in the same position. How do you take the side piece off? It looks like it just clips in with some metal clips, but I tried pulling and its on pretty darn tight! Is this all I need to do to get that piece off - or is it actually screwed in somewhere? Thanks in advance, Will |

Just yank on it harder, they are just small clips. I found it most effective to hit the panel with the heel of my hand from the inside, next to the clips. Beware however, that getting those clips out of there is difficult. Sheet-metal screws hold them onto the plastic wall from behind, so you either need to get a small screwdriver behind there (don't ask me how), or you can do what I did: Grasp the screw tip with a pair of small pliers, and twist off the clip using another pair of pliers, or your fingers. To remove the screws, you'll have to reach behind there by either going through the vent holes, or popping it off. |
