Does anybody have any information on the 02 Freelander Trek edition? How many were made? Is it worth purchasing to replace the Disco? Any help would be of great value to me and my wife.

Thanks,

Boone

Not worth the extra cost to get the Trek. There is nothing special about them other then the color. The other parts they add are off the LR shelf (thatch roof garage even has the Safety Devices roof racks available and Nathan at Discount Rovers can get you the other add ons) You would save money by adding the items you want yourself.

Just got back from the dealer (Paramus, NJ) for some corrosion warranty work and they had a 'G4 Freelander' in their showroom covered in vinyl decals. Funny thing is mud is 'splattered' all over it but the mud is made out of vinyl as well. Wish I had my camera.

We've got one of the half orange and muddy vinyl covered Freebies here too.

The centre manager told me that LRNA charged him a ridiculous amount to apply the decals (which peel right off) against his advertising budget to supply it that way!

the trek freelander is different in that it has the interior of the SE3. That kind of quasi-waterproof nubby plastic like stuff, I forgot what they really call it. But its not available on any other 5 door freelanders. That and the stainless trim are the only things that cant be bought seperately. I think there are like 25 of them?? something pretty limited. I think it looks cooler than any of the other freelanders.

The stainless steel trim is available at either Atlantic B or edashkit. That interior is just vinyl.

Don.. have you seen the interior? Its not just vinyl. and the stainless trim can be bought from a dealer also. It might be the same as the Ab stuff, but that edashkit is junk. Their stainless looks like wood thats been dyed silver.

and Glenn.. heres that pic you couldnt take..:)

I was under the impression that you could not purchase a Trek / G4 N.A Freelander! I even searched the web for a Trek / G4 edition and found nothing but the G4 challenge data.

Whatever you are smoking would you share:)

OK I was refering to the SE3 in vinyl my mistake. I need to look over the Trek again when I am up at the dealer to make sure of the interior.
BTW here is one for sale without the stickers.

I still say not worth the extra cost though.
