Our great hosts set this forum up for all of us to help each other. I know you guys and gals love your new ride and you have so many ????'s like we all have had at one time. So here we go. Like my Step son told me one time 19yrs ago when he was 8yrs old. IF YOU CAN'T KEEP UP TAKE NOTES. :)I am going to answer 99% of your questions even before you think of asking them. I know some of you out there don't believe that someone could be that SMART. Well I AM. :) Here you go.

To the left of this message is a section called Utilities in there is a place called Keyword Search and 2001 Archives ( Do not be afraid of it. It will take you into another world of enjoyment.) 99% of the questions you are about to ask will be there.
It is not that we do not want to answer your ??'s But most of the ??'s you ask, have been answered many time thoughout the Life of Dweb.
Try it and see what will happen.
Enjoy your Disco and enjoy this Great site.:):)

So, ideally, everyone can just search the archives and no one will ever have to be troubled by having to post or reply to a new thread?
Sounds like a recipe for the death of a board.
Part of what this board provides is some comminality and frequency of problems, not just the problem itself.
I'm sad that you'd prefer no posts to redundant ones.

MTB,
There are already several threads saying we should read the archives.

Obviously you have not checked them yet.

That's 0.04

Did he do a search for them? :)

obviously not. i did a keyword search for "keyword search" and got 912 hits (well, 913 now including this one). :) c'mon mtb. this is a redundant topic. if you can't keep up, take notes. incidentally, i used to own an mtb. damn thing was always on blocks. before i go, which winch should i buy? what tires are the best?

MTB is certainly entitled to his opinion, but he is not a moderator of this board. While it is certainly possible to find answers to a lot of questions by searching for them, we don't have a rule against redundant questions at this time.

i like the redundancy...makes you feel the community growing

Is there a message board or a site for Land Rover Discovery owners? I've heard of a site called http://www.discoweb.org, but I can't figure out how to access it on my computer. Can any one help me?

:-)

That site is just for people who want to install '03 stuff in their DIs and put neon lights underneath them.

axel, sounds like you haven't ruled out the idea :)

as the other caller said, it is nice to have the same question asked every few months, so you get a library of different ideas/answers.

the most interesting of late it the famous, my air conditioner cuts out a few seconds and then comes back on.

it has been discussed easily 15 times i can recall. now the question has been cracked by some of the more electronically inclined discoweb brethren. and are tackling the question from a permanent , alternate fix.

yea there is a very valid point there Rob, once a guy here's it enough over and over when it happens to him it may be time to find a real fix instead of the standard Rover band-aid

LOL, now boys, let's cut our resident hairless home-wrecker some slack. MTB's always been O.k. in my book. I think his post was a little serious and a whole lotta tongue-in-cheek.

Now, Bilsteins or Ranchos?

Karen :)

LOL where does one start.

Did I do a search for this topic "no" no one else does why should I :)

Yes I was a newbie at one time when Dweb was born I think it was early 99 or late 98. getting to old to remember. But for the past 2+ years I have been able to fix my Disco problems or product information by doing a search and learned other thing on the way.

The main reason for the post is that alot of people on here still don't know that there is tons of valuable information over there. So if it helps one than it was a good day.

Jim it would take alot more than the same old questions to piss me off.

It is amazing how some people take some post on forums. Karen knew how to take it.:) I guess it was the caps in some of the words that got some of your panties in a bunch.LOL

Axel's post sums it up :)

Kim, you'll have to do data recovery because Axel killed off the best thread (VBG). It was all Carter's fault. You know how he is. Can you imagine what he could do if that boy actually studied???? ROTFLOL!

i think the two funniest threads i've ever seen are the one where the photoshop boys kept posting the disco all pimped or redneck'd out, and the one where carter got into with that parts dealer dude over the meaning of poser vs. poseur. that was priceless! seriously, though. i need to lift my truck 2 in. can i just install rovertym spacers and go? and carter, where'd you get the offset wheels to bring them out an extra inch or so? and mtb, if you're not busy, could you search all this for me and email me the threads? :)

Tom, i personally found the other way works better -
bigger tires first, and as they rub at every speed bump, no need to convince the wife that it needs a lift.
