anti lock came on yesterday. i read the manual and it says it is only a concern if youre pulling a trailer which im not. i do go off roading but its in really light terrain like deep sand. so should i fix it or just cut out a small square of electric tape, put over it, and forget about it? |

most likely a bad sensor. if you want the ABS to work then get it fixed. if not.......pull a fuse and be done with the system. i hate the ABS. |

From time to time the sensors get knock around and the gap become to large thus causing the light to come on. You can do the following: Take it to local garge or dealer and they can hook up the computer to tell you what is happening or you can remove the senors and put them back in. This usally works for me. Just because the light comes on does not mean the sensor is bad. A new sensor can be about $200-$250 good luck |

My wifes came on regular brakes not a problem except for snow. She hates the snow and now everytime it does snow I have to give up my Range Rover or she wont drive. |

My 96 D1 ABS light only comes on at ignition & disappears, as it should. However I remember having the light stay on for some time after wading, or even when I pressure washed the underside on the car (including brake & inside the wheel area) It could need to dry out Roly |

3 years - the pump pulses on first braking. I have routine -drive ten feet, apply brake allow pump to cycle, light comes on - get on with your day. Never had to brake hard enough to know whether the system works or not. Candence braking is the old fashioned way! |

man if your light comes on I say pull the ABS ECU in back of the glove box. mine came on before and my ABS started acting strange, kinda scary actually, so I pulled it to be safe. I probably just needed to wait for my sensor to dry out, it was after a wash. |

You can diagnose that yourself if your disco is 95 or below. Chances are, its a bad sensor. I've had to replace 2 in 2.5 years. |
