Those pics are cool and the trail looks even cooler. I would just like to warn any of the less experienced off roaders that the water is probably moving fast enough to carry your truck away. A little deeper or different bottom and you could have a disaster. Maybe not at that site but a similar site.
Comments??

Ummm the water was moving fast. It was not really that deep. The rocks are HUGE around there. I would say the real danger was not having your truck carried away in this area but sliding in to other rocks and braking stuff on the underside of the rig. It is really easy to get hung up and have water come flooding into the truck though. I think all the the rigs that decided to cross there had a min. of a 2" lift and big tires. It sure was fun though.

Compare these two pics:

and

The water was definitely higher than usual but the depth was less interesting than the speed and pressure it was moving with. However, as Jeremy pointed out, with such a wide and varied array of rocks to choose from you were going to get hung up and soaked before you went very far. :)

I did not intend to question the ability of the people in the pics, and apologiize, as it does read that way, I guess. My intent was to "make aware" less experienced Discoweb visitors and new off roaders.

Grant,
Dont worry bout it :) You made a good point. We have pictures that aren't on discoweb that show a spotter out there in the river w/ wadders http://www.pazoodle.com/2-1-03/crw_9227.htm any water that you head into you should know the depth and have an idea of the content laying beneth the water. ECU's arent cheap... thats why I risk others and not my own ;)

I'll admit I fit Jeremy's profile of someone who was going around a big rock and then when a tire slipped on something below the water nudged me onto a rock. Jeremy then proceeded to take pictures of the water coming up the side of the truck, while Matt (the guy in the water) hooked up a tow strap and with a gentle tug, water damage was avoided as seen here http://www.pazoodle.com/2-1-03/crw_9225.htm

If I was by myself, I would probably go play some place else with that water level. I guess the saying "Never swim alone" applies here too.
