This probably sound stupid, but... Is there a factory hole in the bottom of the muffler? It looks so exact, and dirrectly (centered) below the "Land Rover" emblem. About the size of a pea (1/8") circle. It doesn't look like it's been punctured, or rusted.. it's just there! -bob- 89RRC |

Bob The hole is a weep hole. It is designed to let moisture out of the muffler. |

aha! you learn something every day. last time i went through a nice mud hole i thought I blew a head gasket . . . a visual inspection at home revealed a hole in the muffler; thought I punctured it on a rock ;) neat thread! |

That was my first though!.. A weep hole to let condensed water to leak out of instead of rusting the muffler (so simply ingenious if you ask me) but then I thought about exhaust leaking from underneath the body (which I thought most inspection stations frowned on..) and figured it wasn't stock. thanks for the clarification! -bob- |
