Just a shameless plug for British Pacific. Just got off the phone with Marty, who once again gave me some valuable time to figure out if the parts I needed were correct. Of recent, I just converted my '83 RRC to fuel injection using the EFI system off of a '90 RRC. It runs, passed emissions just fine, but there are still some bugs to work out, including wiring up the vehicle speed sensor. I've got the sensor, but the speedo cable from the transfer case to the sensor was not the right size on the inner cable (too small)...among the differences between the BW from the doner and my LT230. Well, I called up BP, spoke to Marty again, and we conversed for about 30 minutes as he dug up at least 4 different speedo cables for me, including the replacement for my vehicle, the two cables for the '87-'89 RRCs and the single cable for the '90+ RRC (which I have but does not work). Using Marty's eyes and my incessant questioning, we were able to determine the two-piece arrangement for the '87 to '89 was going to fit (based on the respective inner cable sizes and threaded collars, etc.). On top of that, he gave me a discount on one of the cables. Usually I'm a cheap bastard and would pay for a used part before breaking down to by a new part (especially an "OEM ROVER" part), but the service has, again, been exceptional, above and beyond what I have experienced elsewhere. I really appreciate it and am willing to forgo my cheap bastard tendencies when a person or company goes the extra mile. Thanks Marty and thanks British Pacific!!! |
