I think my mfu on my 95 Classic has gone bad... i no longer have the chime that tells me to put my seat belt on. my courtesy dome light is intermittent at best, my rear wiper works about 50% of the time, and my front and rear heated windshields dont work... any ideas |

Nick My suggestions: Try replacing the interior light switch that is on the drivers door. You can try swaping with of the other switches to see if that is your problem. I think the wire which goes to the switch should be getting 12volts all the time. My personal opinion of the rear wipe/wash thing is just remove it from the truck and throw it away. For the front and rear heated windshields you can get a wiring diagram and a multimeter. Then just make a plan to diagnose the system. A quick way to determine if they are working: While engine is idling turn on a heated windshield; The high amperage draw will cause the engine idle speed to change momentarily if the heater works. There is also a special circuit which prevents too many high amp devices from operating at one time. That special circuit will be illustrated in the wiring diagrams. Randall |
