Are Michelin tires any good?

If I remember correctly, the Michelins that you are looking at don't do to well in the snow. I just purchased a set of Pirelli Scorpions from the tirerack in the 18" size for $130 each.... Also some people on the board have been talking about the Kumho tire also - only $98 each!!!!
