ive been looking at tires for quite some time and i was wondering if anyone knew much about the Super Swamper Interco Trxus MTs. i want a good offroad tire for pretty heavy mud and for the all different terrians. i also need to get around town and i dont want them to wear down within six months and then have to go out and buy another pair. i thought of getting two sets but then again i dont wanna put a lot of money into a set of wheels and tires.
thanks
Scott

Tires that are good for heavy mud, really aren't good for much else. You have to make your choice. I have Swamper LTBs. They are surprisingly good on the road but I made my choice and am happy with it.

So you want a good mud tire, a good street tire, a good all terrain tire, and you don't want to spend a lot of money... sounds like a tough problem to solve.

I've put about 10k miles on my LTB's and it looks like they have lost about 1/5 of their tread when I inspected them last weekend. You won't find a better mud tire that can be used for daily driving. But the penalty comes in fuel mileage and it's not the quietest tire.

I dunno??? Swampers ROCK! in the rocks. That would explain why an odle of crawlers use them.. The SSR's I have on my CJ are surprizingly quiet for what they are.. Much queiter than the TSL radials I used to run.. We have BFG MT's and AT's on the Disco (depending on the time of year).. Once the BFGs wear out it's either Swampers or MTR's to replace them. Only problem with Swampers is they do wear out quickly.. I got 20,000 miles (50/50 off road/on road) out of the TSL's I'll get less out of the SSR's

And there is the rub,

Yes, the SSR and the TSL are terrific in mud in rocks. But they neither last, nor are they cheap, nor do they make good all-terrain tires. But they are terrific at what they are.

I have the TrXus MT on my truck. They are SIIIIIICK in the snow, good in the mud, fairly quiet, Very Good in wet )on and off road...they're siped).

Wheel well on the rocks.

also have the TrXus 235/85-16 on my RR. same results as RJ above. RR is daily driver - well when I'm home - and tires are wearing well.

fairly cheap @ 100.00 each. I'd go for them again.

what's the most mileage anyone here can report with the trXus M/T's? i've got Futura Enforcers right now and it looks like I'll get around 30-35k out of them (I'm at 25k right now) Just curious.. later.. Rob

Robert,

have about 5k on mine and other than the little nobbies (sp??) wearing off, looks like the unused spare in the back. so, I'm expecting a good deal of mileage with them.

hope this helps some.
