I just noticed a couple days ago that I have a crack starting on my front windshield and its getting bigger by the day. It has the front defogger wires build into the glass so I'm wondering if my only option it to go to the dealer to get this windshield replaced? Or are their glass companies, like the ones the come to your car to do the replacement, that are able to get the factory glass? I live in MA, where your insurance covers the windshield - so going to the dealer cost nothing also, but I don't live close to the place and its a PITA to get to, etc.... Has anyone gotten a windshield with the defroster built in from a third party windshield company? Thanks, Will |

Any glass company will change the glass with genuine LR glass that THEY get from the dealership. If you took your truck to the dealer, they would hire some glass company to do the work. Just call your agent and s/he will give you a few names to chose from. Just tell them that it is a heated windshield and you want "factory glass' and nothing else. Good luck...Dave |

If insurance is paying for it, insist that it is genuine! Generic brands may pit easier than genuine.... |
