Clear and Present Danger: they were driving Range Rovers up to the house with the huge lifted yellow truck before it was blown to heck by US CIA or SO.

Die Another Day: brief shot of RRs leaving the "ice Palace" as James Bond arrives.

I'm sure there's other Bond flicks, but that's the best my brain can do at this hour.

lol....

Speaking of, I just found my tape of it this evening (the kids had knockd it behind the entertainment center, so I couldn't find it in the stacks back whenever it was we were discussing it....)....

There was a show on NBC a week ago, about journalists in the Middle East, had some SIII in it.

The opening of one of the Timothy Dalton Bond movies has a military SIII going off a cliff...

Romancing the Stone (Michael Douglas' vehicle that gets whacked by the bus at the beginning).

Mighty Joe Young (the new version)

I watched a movie on the Sundance or IFC channel, I don't remember which, but it was called Fuckland. It was a documentary sort of movie that was kind of interesting, but anyway it had a ridiculous amount of rovers. There was prob one every 2 minutes or less, every other driveway had some kind of LR and one of the main characters drove a red 110.

In the Bourne Identity, during the chase scene there is an accident where a green RRC broadsides a van.

Also on television if anyone watches Monarch of the Glen on BBC America they drive and shit colored, rusty old SIII that I just love. Lot's of other Rover cameo's there.

In comercials...how about that snowball rolling downt he street of Aspen(?) that hits the front end of a red DII.

"Mugambo", from 1953, starring Clark Gable, Ava Gardner and Grace Kelly is a comedy-drama about an Africa safari to catch wild animals for zoos. In one scene, Gable calls his Series model a "jeep".

"The List of Adrian Messenger", a suspense movie from the mid-60's, starring Kirk Douglas and George C. Scott, with supporting roles by Frank Sinatra, Tony Curtis and Burt Lancaster. How about that line-up? In a scene of a fox hunt across the English countryside, some characters ride in an Series model.

I just saw Savior, pretty good, but depressing, movie. One scene has a couple of Defenders escorting a bus. Unfortunately Serbs get out of the Defenders, line up the Muslins who were on the bus, smash a few in their heads with an assortment of clubs, then shoot all the rest.

Another great Rover movie, is Killer Force, http://us.imdb.com/Title?0073241
Lot's of Land Rovers racing about the desert. One good scene has O.J. Simpson staggering out of a wrecked Series, patting it on the bonnet and saying, "Good Land Rover, good Land Rover".

It has the most Land Rovers I've seen in a movie, short of the CT videos.

The recent "Crocodile Hunter" kid's movie has a RH drive DII with stainless or chrome brush bar, snorkle, and some kind of rack but it's carrying a raft so it's hard to tell what it is.

U2 Video with a glimps of a Discovery - DVD came with the best of 1990-2000.

James Bond where he is playing paint ball with Brit forces at Gibraltar and someone makes it into a real game. Bond rides on the top of the Series III that is on fire and swerving.

Saw a Freelander on a Jack-in-the-Box comercial. And a Discovery in Law and Order a few weeks ago.

The Sum of All Fears - crap movie - has a FC-101 and a great looking Series IIa or III - can't remember.

Bourne Identity has both a RR Classic, and a 4.0 or 4.6.

"She's All That"

Was on TNT on President's Day. Freddie Prinze Jr. drives a yellow soft-top D90 in many scenes.

Appeared as if they blew the whole budget on the Defender so they used it in many shots.

Don't know the name of the movie, but some silly Steven Segal movie there was an awsome scene with Steven Segal in a RRC being chased by some bad guys, I remember the RRC flying in the air , maybe off a parking garage, all shot up, doors torn off, then it finally crashed into a parked car, it was pretty cool, but the movied sucked.

Oh, I remembered another newer one....

There was a movie on Sci-Fi a few months ago, called "Dog Soldiers" if I remember correctly... it's about a group of Brit soldiers on a training exercise in the Scottish Highlands, and discover that they're bait to catch some werewolves... anyway, there's a biology grad student driving a 109, pulls up at a cottage, there's a Series in the barn, too... one of those low-budget flicks, but, I thought it was cool.....

FWIW...

Not movies, but TV programs if you're interested:

Adventure Inc., while kinda pathetic, does have bimbos and land rovers occasionally. There was recently even a car chase between a defender and a mustang, and LOL the rover kept up (until it crashed).

Scout's Safari. Regularly has series rovers all over the town. Man I love that program:-)

The John Wayne movie was called "Hatari", and the rhino gored a man riding in an old Dodge power wagon. The only Land Rovers in that movie were parked in the background as the characters chased a baby elephant through a small city.

If you can find it, try "Ice cold in Alex" only one 109 SW at the end of the flick, but it is a great off-road (mostly sand dunes) adventure film.

The picture was a WWII film so the Land-
Rover doesn't belong in the movie.

The John Wayne one is great - real stunts in those days...

The special edition of Lawrence of Arabia shows 109's being used to haul the camera equipment.

The one with Sam Waterston and Denzel Washington about S. Africa and aparthied, can't remember the name but there are some pretty good Rover shots in that.

Another movie that used quite a few Land Rovers, was Skeleton Coast staring Ernest Borgnine. Even had the old "Chain a guy to a Land-Rover and watch the tide come in" scene in it. Other that the Rovers, the movie is pretty bad though even for a low budget action/adventure flick.

I watched the SUV segment on "60 Minutes" Sunday. Only because I like it when people call me a terrorist supporting, environment hating, gas guzzling male with an inferiority complex. But they did mention Land Rover and showed them several times.

We started watching Gorillas in the Mist today in science class. It is about Jane Goodall. Towards the begining they show her driving off-road in a SIII 109 with no top. The only problem is that seen is set in 1967 and SIII's didn't come out until 4 years later. I called this out in class and everyone laughed at me...:-)
