Get underneath one! Remindes me of a suburban. Saw one at the show, with the premium running boards (an option surely YOU would have) it had maybe 8 to 10 inches of ground clearance.

Steve - you need treatment really bad.

Check out http://www.bowler-offroad.com/ three times a day, and http://www.discoweb.org after each meal.

Book an appointment with doctor Kyle and Nurse Ho, and these terrible feelings should subside within a few days.

i am afraid the hummer has gone to the way of the buffalo. it met the white man and now is no longer the great beast of the wilderness. no longer will its powerful hooves beat on the open plains and deserts of the free world. it has become chevized, a mass production pile of plastic and pure nonsense advertising. my fear is that what happen to a pure off road motor vehicle known as the hummer will occurr to our land rovers as ford attempts to increase its profit margin by cutting corners and washing out the magic that is Land Rover!

i agree Ho, the hummer is good at what it was designed to do. as i have said before my son is on a Humvee crew and he tells me the the LR is kicks ass when compared to the humvee. he has seen the Brits in action with their defenders so i guess he would know! the only thing i would sing in praise of the humvee is that the damn thing was well built. his driver rolled one with him in the gun pod during excerises at Ft Bragg a couple of years ago. the truck rolled over onto him but the gun pod kept the weight off his body. he did suffer a broken leg but survived because the sturdiness of the vehicle (in didnt crush in on itself) so as i said it is built very well for what it is designed for. oh by the way the hooked a tow strap rolled it back over on its wheels started it and drove away.

so true leslie, but you can't run over medium sized trees in an old bug! altho a .50 cal mount would be awesome on the old baja kits you used to be able to buy for the VW.

no matter what hummer that i might someday

A .50 on a turrent mount on a Hummer? That would be way bitchin'!! You might mean an M-60 (7.62), but I like the idea of that badass fifty on a hummer, talk about cool. Even better, how 'bout a vulcan? JMcD

never was a big fan of the 'pig' (the m60)
it was a mofo to hump, i'm glad i never had to.

from a strictly value per (civilian legal for now)
round down range - you can beat a semi-auto
m2. add a hi-mag elcan as the dutch army, and you will have one serious concentrated fire weapon out to 1000m easy. putting a semi auto m60 on a car, you might as well have a fnfal or m1a.... no diff.

robbie - you got the right idea!
