Thanks all.

I wouldn't trade mine for any other lights on the market. The Hella 4000 HIDs are slightly brighter but also $800 more per light.

I got mine from DWeb member Jay Allen. I've recommended him often to other buyers with good results.

Enjoy!

Perrone's not talking about regular 4000 lights...

4000 HID, those expensive buggers... the ones w/ the external ballast, etc.... the orange-ring ones...

The Hella 4000 HID lights retail at $900 each. MY pair of Lightforce were about $225 a pair. The Hellas are nice to be sure, but for $1800 they better say "rolex inside"!

Wow, for $900.00 each, they'd better do a LOT more for me than light my way!

I like the lightforce for the size. I think that $900ea. is a little high for a vehicle that sees only about 30-40% offroad and less than 5% at night off road. The cost benefit is not there. Just my humble opinion.

How about lightforce compared to IPF 960's? And do lightforce's come with different beam patterns, or just one (pencil beam, fog, euro, etc.)?

Jroc,

I run one of my lightforce lights in flood, and the other in driving beam. I get even light from edge to edge on the road, and the driving beam gives me very bright light beyond half a mile. best lights I've ever seen.

These Lightforce lights sound like the shiznit! LOL (that means they sound like really good lights!) I'm now wondering if they'd fit in my oem brush bar, or the ARB Bullbar? Has anybody checked out the new HID light they have? I wonder how much they cost???

JRoc,

The lightforce come in three sizes. Normal, large, and insane. I don't know what will fit in your brushbar. DWeb member Jay Allen has three of the insane sized ones on his winch bumper (not sure what kind).

I have spoken at length with one of the Marketing directors in the US about the HIDs which were supposed to debut after SEMA. They were unique because unlike the Hellas, they were supposed to offer the ballast in a hermetically sealed unit that sat below the light housing. I've not had a chance to check them out.

To be honest, the largest of their lights gives me all the light I could ever want. I've used these things in forest canopy where the full moon was nearly blocked out, and they made daylight of the trail. Those who own them seem to be very satisfied with them. You may wish to read this account of a former D90 owner (now G-Wagen owner) who installed a set of the large ones this year after I tried convincing him to buy some...
