As my lease on a 2000 DII comes to an end, I see the FMV is way below the residual. Yet BMW Financial refuses to budge on the buy out. Anyone had any success with the BMW version of Land Rover Fin Sevcs? Tips?

I went through BMW they koncked the price down about 2000 forgave the last three months of lease fixed many cosmetics complaints I had (non-warrenty issuses) and gave me a 100k warrenty. I had called them numerouse times on the phone as my lease was about to expire and every time they told me it was non-nego. in the end took the car to the dealer and haggled all the final numbers there. So if you are going buy what they tell you over the phone don't get discouraged just try it out at the dealer

My advice would be to wait. I was busy and had BMW call me numerous times and send me a letter to see what I was doing (buy out or return) and I just didn't get back to them. About a week before the end date I get a call from BMW Leasing and they ask if I am buying the vehicle and I say I'm not sure. It is then that they offer a $5000 discount on the buyout if I will take it off their hands. I was going to buy it out all the time, but it was at this point that I officially said yes.

At the end of the conversation I asked why the discount and was told that as they that as they no longer own Landrover they would have to take possession of the vehicle wherever it is and get it to a central location and auction it off. As they can no longer dispose of it on the Lnadrover lot they have to accept wholesale prices and have other associated costs and additional hassle . Much easier to talk the customer into taking it off their hands, hence the discount.

All in all I am sure they will offer you a deal. Excellent idea to try and get an extended warranty as Ken got.
