I obviously like Yellow, but I am also partial to white or the color of the 94 I had. It was a teal green, I don't know the real name for the color.

I want black, She want white. White won. Now it's my turn to zebra stripe.... She doesn't agree that's the best of both worlds. And I AM being honest here. Do they stripe Chawton white or is that a special pure white when striped? (White gold we agree on now didn't exist in '99 and she won't let me get a new one just to change colors) What else is a guy to do?

Well, I have White-Gold, and as I've said before, I like it because I am lazy, and it doesn't show the dirt & scratches as much.

HOwever, I am very partial to the Kent Green & Epsom Green. I saw a nice looking Kent Green Disco in Laguna Beach on St. Patrick's Day with a personalized license plate that said something to the effect of "Clover Rover" (abbreviated, of course).

Kim
I also like black, various reds,,,, oh heck, I like 'em all (I change my mind a lot)

Yep... kinversand's the paprika color. Kinda girlish but it is unusual and mysterious. When was that color made in the US?? I just saw one here for teh first time in Michiagn, US. I think I am going to join DiscoWeb. This place is the shit. White gold is also a good color....

I have always loathed red on vehicles. However, on some rigs it actually works. This applies more to the D2 than the D1. My wife made me get this color, but I dig it now and get lots of compliments:

Ron,

I wasn't aware that they were made by the factory. But I've always really liked the Conniston with White roofs on the D90 SW's. I am half/a$$ looking for a Conniston Disco that I can paint the roof white. I'd love to see pic's of one so I can decide. Here in the South having a white roof is definitely the way to go.

Roverine,

Yes my name is Ross and I'm a Roverholic. I actually have another Disco that is a project that I did not list(too embarassed). My wife thought me becoming a Rover Sales Guide would cure me...My second week there I Bought a D90. If I'd have stayed any longer I'd probaby own a D2 and a Rangie...

Best: Portafino Red.
works just as well on Defender and Series
Still luv it 109k miles later,

Worst is Kniversand, a close relative to Roman Bronze that LR stuck on the RRC back in the late 80's

I'm not a Kniversand fan at all, but the worst was Charleston Green.... that was Rover's teal color. (Sorry Johnny K! :)) It really wasn't true Charleston Green, either, which is a real color, an interesting color, but Rover just borrowed the name to make teal sound better.

I have only heard of them (white roofed discos)

Alyssa "supposedly" :) has seen one. The folks at the dealer had one when new and it took forever to sell.

The story is that they were made for the mexican market but due ot lack of demand sold in the US. They were 95 models I think.

Now who has a picture of one?

Ron

PS good one Gil! anyone else?

Beluga Black and Java Black are two different colors... well, they may not actually be different colors but it certainly tells the year of the vehicle. Beluga was first offered when Disco's came to the US, then Java took over maybe somewhere around 98'ish, but I don't know the year for sure.

Andy, the UN stickers are on order. But careful what you wish for. Those stickers may get you shot at by the right-wingers out there.

Ron -

I have what I assume to be the forefather of white gold - it is a goldish 95 - you seem to know all the colors - what is it called? I got some touh up paint from my dealer and it took like 5 months to come in.

Also, my roof is in rough shape and I have actually been thinking of painting it white. I had kind of given up on the idea, but it still lurks in my subconcious.

I think it is Armada Gold which on Range rovers would be called Roman Bronze, it would say for sure on the touch up paint.

There are a lot of really rare colors (like 1 or 2 each) and rare colors (ie really unpopular and only available 1 year).

One that was florida gold on 95 range rover new body style. Like bright yellow gold.

I really liked it.

There were the hella edition D90s which were one of each of 12 different colors.

FWIW, I've seen one of the elusive white roofed green Disco Is. I acutally thought at the time that it was a custom job by an owner with D90SW envy... Run into it a couple times here in Boulder, CO in the past year. If I find it again, I'll try to snap a picture.

My impression of it is this though: cool in concept, pretty cheesey in person...
