The other day I was driving in heavy slush and snow. The ETC would kick in every once in a while. Then the Transmission temp light came on. I pulled over shut off truck waited 5 mins started her up and back to normal but... why would this happen? too much strain on the transmission? and i would figure in 10 degree weather with snow splashing everywhere the gearbox oil would remain warm not hot. any help would be appreciated. Same thing happens to my 2000 DII - I asked the board once and a couple people said it happens to them also....nothing to worry about....I think its more like an electrical short than the tranmission temp really being too hot... It happened to me twice...once at a car wash when they spray water on the underneath of the car...and the other time was going thru a big snow/slush puddle.... |
