I have a '97 D1 w/95K miles. I recently changed my front brake pads. As I was spinning the hubs I noticed the brake pads rubbing on both sides. Is this normal? Did I not compress the pistons enough? Also, in another post, I mentioned that I can smell a faint burning smell coming from the front wheels after moderate drives. There might be a connection. How do I correct this?

Disk brakes are self adjusting. They will be just fine. Burning smells coming from the front are more likely to be oil or grease. -P |

Thanks. Yes, I did grease the bearings and axle to within an inch of their very lives. One question: How much space should exist between the pad and rotor when the pads are "at rest"? Like I said, there is a rub when I spin the rotor and hub. |
