Anyone running this tire size (Preferably the BFG MT)? I'd like to hear what kind of a setup you're running to accomodate this tire, in terms of springs, spacers, castor-corrected radius arms and links, cutting, etc...

255/85-16 is a great size if you want big but manageable. Check out my gallery, the muds are 255/85-16.

Ned,
Hopefully, Im picking up a set of 285/75 BFG MT's this weekend. If i get them mounted, ill take pictures and let you know how they fit.
Im running the RTE 3 inch lift, and i have RTE radius arms, trailing arms, etc.
I also plan to add 1" spacers all around.

Put 285/75/16 MTR's on last fall. I've done some trimming, and still need to do some more. I will likely have to relocate rear axle back. Not sure about front axle.

$G stage 3 lift

stock axles and cv's :-)

Ned,
Seems we are doing the same thing again! I ran into you over on the Bilstein shock thread!! I was really at a loss for what type of tire I wanted to get. I was first going with a 265/75 BFG Mud. Then switched my decision to a 265/70 SSR, but I think I am finally going with a Procomp MT. I really like the tire design and it looks like it will work well in the rain and ocassional ice we get here in the southern tip of VA. I'm going with a 305/75 which is about 32.4 in OD, so it should work well with my 3in RTE lift.
Has any one heard good or bad about the Procomp's?

Mike

For summer fun I intend to run a set of 32-11.50/15 BFG MT's on AR steel rims. Initial testing shows that I'll need longer bump stops in the back and more trimming that the simple Camel Trophy trim I have now with the 235-85's Probably the lip inside the fenders will need to be removed.
It's got a 3" RT lift and the rear axle has been moved back about a half inch I don't see the need to adjust the steering stops with the offset on these rims. flex tests will probably show the bumper will need trimming...

I put 265's on my 95. I have the OME 2" stuff (thanks Ho!) underneath, but the tires seem to be too big. I removed the front "valance?" (looks bad ass!) to keep the tires from chewing the spoiler on turns, and I will need to do the trim thing for the rear. Looks cool, but if I were to do it again I would have went a size smaller.

I had RTE 2 inch lift, AR rims and 265/75 MTR's and the tires got chewed up even with lots of trimming in the rear. I added 1inch RTE spacers and longer bumpstops and they fit perfectly. I have RTE rear links and front radius arms. DC front shaft. Next month I will try 285/75 with 4 inches of lift. Any one run this?

Currently I'm running BFG MT 235/85/R16s and I think they're just too skinny. So I started to think about 265/75s or 255/85s. But I had the 255/85s on my old D90 and always felt they were a little too skinny. Of course, different trucks entirely but I am just "thinking" at this point. So then I thought about the 285/75s... John at RTE used to run them before he went to 35s. And I was thinking that would be the biggest I could do without doing serious body lifting and panel chopping.

I just hate blowing money on incorrect tire sizes. Kind of feel like I should get it right (the second time).

I'm switching from OME HDs to RTE 3" springs. Might add spacers if need be to accomodate my new Bilstein 7100s in the rear. I've got RTE rear links. Front and rear bumpers that have kept the notorious wheel-well rubbing points at bay to this point...

Just trying to figure out the next move. So many mods, so little money.

Thanks for all the input and pics.
