Whos running this size?
I just installed my GY MTR's and they started to rub on tight turns.
Did anyone use spacers for offroad flex?
My service eng light came on and was notified 4th gear problems due to oversized tires.
Noticed on highway the trans was searching for the right gear and had to kick down inorder to climb incline.
Any info would be appreciated.
thx All
Alen

Been running this size (but in a different tire) for almost a year now. No problems other than having to adjust my steering stops. Also, try driving in "Sport" mode. It prolongs the shift points and makes driving around town a little more pleasant. Until you re-gear, you'll just have to get used to pulling down into 3rd on those inclines.

Howboucha Alan!
Check out my post about in the rolling backwards thread about the latest Red Bird Stuff. We need to make sure we hook up this year and play.

I put 265's on my 95. Too big, although they look cool. I have the OME suspenders (Thanks Ho!) and the HD springs, sterring dampner.

I have no issues with the rear end, but they grind and chomp big time on "tight" turns.

I really don't know how to fix that situmation.

I have 265's on my D2 and I have to down shift all the time up here in Eastern PA when driving on hills. Heck, I had to do it on stock tires. It's just something you will have to get used to with the gearing and undersized v8 in these trucks. Your larger tires are just exagerating the situation. Try using sport mode like Greg Davis mentioned. That's what I do also and it helps. I also down shift to 3rd when needed going up a hill and I down shift to 3rd to assist in braking when needed.

Until you install 4.11's or smaller tires, the truck will not like the big tires.
