I'm in the market for driving lights for my 96 D1 and want to know of anyone that has compared Hellas with other brands. I live in the Pacific Northwest and the weather is usually pretty wet and foggy so I need a quality set of lights. The Hella 500s are nice but spendy and only 55w. I can get KCs for less $ with more wattage. What's the difference, the name?

I have hella 4000's on my 99d2. They are 100w and light up the road. I think you can get them for around $250 or less at susquehana motor sports. Check the vendor's section of the site. I've never owned KC's so I can't commnent. But the 4000's are sturdy and well built.

Corey,

I thought the same thing. I went out and bought a pair of ProComp 130w lights (for 35 bucks, they were good). But then a family friend wanted to sell a pair of ole' Hella Rallye 2000s off of his D-90. The 2000s are a lot better in beam pattern and brightness.

I would suggest the Hellas over most any other kind of light, the quality is better.

"SG has em for 95 a piece"

safari gard may HAVE lots of things.
and they would certainly like to HAVE your money.
but they don't believe they actually HAVE to ship you anything.

no attack at you phillip but i had/am still having a terrible experience with $G.
