I don't remember seeing much in the way of discussion about freer flowing exhausts for Rovers. Has anyone upgraded to a little more exciting option? Improved power? Are there any issues with the slabs or any of the other computers? I'm mostly interested for the D2 if/when the factory exhaust goes south on me.

My impression on this from reading posts on Dweb since last April when I joined are that it is a wasted upgrade that makes the engine a little more noisey. I think any power increases seem to be negligable from the posts I've read, although you may be able to pick up a longer lasting material like stainless or something.

How about cutting off my resonator? Will that do anything good or bad?
I am sick of banging it all up on stuff.

I don't think anyone has complained of anything bad other than additional noise. I have made no changes to my stock exhaust so I'm basing on my memory of others comments.

Although, Paul Morgan cut off about 2 to 4 inches of his tail pipe and started getting a bad vibration at times. He may be able to shed more light on this or other changes.

check out the nrp site. the system is top notch. i dont have access to a 4wd dyno,so i am not sure about hp gain. but a better exhaust system has got to help.

I have a 96' D1 and I put a 3" in and out flow master on mine.... power range is longer! sounds great... You will have to find a good muffler guy to make the bends needed to tuck it good and alow for large articulation angle's. good luck!

Upgrading exhaust does almost nothing for performance and is basically a waste of money. Just drill a hole in the muffler if you want sound.

Followup question.
At what mileage have any of you had to address exhaust replacement issues?
