Within the past couple of month the back door in my 96 D1 has been rattling. It has been driving me nuts. It make me feel like i have a shitty ride. I was just wondering, do you guys think I might need new door pins and bushings. Wouls this solve the problem or would it be something else. Thanks Sean |

Sean, I had a 96 Disco, didn't have much rattling, but a decade ago I had a 81 trans Am with the long heavy doors and they rattled like shit. My 96 Disco just had speaker vibration noise. Try the following: 1)Open rear door and try to move the entire rear door up and down as well as side to side. Have someone look at pivots on hinges for extra movement and noise. 2)If you get neither, most likely the rattling is coming from some rubbing around the perimeter of the truck's opening or where the strike goes into the receiver in the jamb. 3) Have a passenger sit in the back and try to pin point where the rattle is coming from. 4) If all fails...do as other post said 'turn radio up'. |
