I hope this doesn't sound bad, but our funds are limited as far as RKORES goes, and the more things I can have without paying the better the program will be. (RKORES is the off-road program I am in charge of at a Boy Scout Camp). If you have anything like tools, rover stuff, or anything to do with off-roading, post on here or e-mail me. You can get a tax write off on whatever you donate.

Thanks,
Will Bobbitt

Mildly off subject but my son just did the Scouts Pinewood Derby about 3 weeks ago. It was a long night of fierce racing but geez those kids (and I) had a blast. We had computerized results projected on a big screen and a great hardwood track. I think my son is going to the regionals!

Nope, not a thing....Greedy SOB's :-) I just want to make it clear; I am not asking for Handouts :-). If you happen to have something that would be usefull to the program sitting around and you aren't using it, then donate and get a tax write off.

Thanks!
Will

Will, I am not familiar with the Boy Scout program, can you give me more detail as to what you need?

Sorry for my ignorance but I am willing to give a hand..

John,
Thanks! Last year about this time I came up with the idea for an off-road program at my local Boy Scout Summer camp, Raven Knob. The name of the program is RKORES, which stands for Raven Knob Off-Road Expedition School. Last summer I ran the program and the kids, ages 15-17, did things like auto mechanics merit badge, off-road driving techniques, expedition planning and preparation, recovery methods, and road conservation projects. As far as what I need? Well pretty much anything that will help, from Rover parts, to wrenches, to recovery gear, or even a set of old tires that might have some tread, and be of the Mud Terrain type.

Thanks,
Will Bobbitt

Will,

I might be able to get you a 4 cyl. short block with some problems (busted ring, and cracked block) so you can show them how it all works. Once again, I might. So, do you want stuff like that?

I'll check with the bossman, but I'm sure he would love to get tax credit for something that we have no use for. It will take some time, since I have to pull it out of the truck :-). I have a new short block in the basement, so I have no use for the old short block. Hope it works out but at this stage I cannot promise anything, although it does look like there is a good chance. My dad is a scouter too so I think I can get him to do it.

Max,

Thanks man...Tell me when you are looking at pulling it, and I might be able to come down and help/get it.

Thanks,
Will

Will, I have 5 Dunlop Rover MTs with less than 3/4 tread left (belonged to Brian Jackson and he had them on for about a year with two trips to Moab). They are 285 something (I have to check). You can have them for free but I need to look into shipping costs. Let me know what City and Zip they need to be sent to.

Carter, I checked with Greyhound (their website) and they want over 200 buckaroos to send 5 tires... what am I doing wrong? I'm sure I can send them via UPS cheaper. Let me know. I will also look into Yellow Freight or some other trucking company.

Thanks alot,

John

John , Roadway or ABF is your best bet. Call your local terminal , ask for the terminal manager and explain why your shipping ... They may discount the tarriff or better yet ship'm free.
