no damage yet after a year of having one but it rarely gets a bath. It's been washed maybe 5 times since I have had it

Another note: Keep an eye out for one of those self serve touchless car washes that are often at the new gas stations. They have a spraying arm that rotates around your truck. It does a decent job and will eliminates your concerns about snorkel damage.

is it necessary to remove the wing (fender) to install the mantec snorkel on a rrc? looking at the parts, looks like the hose fits under the bonnet not under the wing. also does anyone have pictures of a rrc installation?

Steve I don't think you hvae to remove the wing. I am in the process of fabricating a snorkel right now, and I am not planning on removing the eing. I am just going to run it through that little space there right into the engine bay. I don't see a problem with doing it that way. I should be done with it by weeks end. I will take some pics for you.

yeah, i agreee, i've been studing it and have my spare parts range rover tore down and there is no need to take the wing off. now if you have an ABS rtange Rover it does make it a bit more complicated.

Hiya folks, I think the snorkel we're talking about has already been installed but it wasn't necessary to remove the fender. Just the hood, and then we removed the cowling ( am I calling that right?) which is the top piece in front of the windshield. It's straight forward. There is a very rough template that comes with the Mantec Snorkel, but rough as it may seem it's exactly where you need to cut. Good Luck folks.

i installed the mantec last weekend...did not need to remove the hood or the cowling. i got around "removing the cowling" by attaching a 3/32" x 5/8" x 6" bar with holes drilled at each end, to the lower mounting bracket on the metal tube and then attached it to the adjacent mounting wall in the engine compartment. the installation did require alot of metal grinding to clear the hose.
