Shame it's for a land cruiser. Anyone want to build this for a Disco2? Greg Davis is dabbling with one for his bumper, but I don't know if he is going into production.

I like that setup from Slee. I've been really into the idea of a rear swingaway, but don't have the fab. skills. Greg davis started that thread a while back with the photos of the bumper/carrier he made and I thought I was in heaven!! I'd be in that line if he wanted to sell that setup...

Yeah, "Ricky" (LOL) has pretty much had his 9 lives on the rear bumper ... Greg just kept fixing the dern truck every time we'd get back home. Funny, I thought for sure, the last time we were out several weeks ago, that bumper's number was up, but apparently there was an "elf bumper wizard of the desert" :-) with us last time ... I got out of the tent in the morning, and Ricky's bumper was fixed! (heheh, at least passable, so the PTA mom's didn't have too much to gossip about that "crazy woman") I try to be as careful as possible, but there's just no getting around that big ole hind end on the D2 .... only a matter of time before the rear quater panel gets damaged. This is the funny thing ... I'm not doing crazy stuff with the family wagon, just like to go for little treks. However, *stuff* happens, LOL. At least I finish what I start, LOL. I'm still in fix about where and how I want to carry the hi-lift (without a roof rack).

Hey, where do his fuel cans mount?

Gimme another week or so and I'll have mine done. But be warned, rear vision won't be very good. To keep the spare from dragging in climbs, it's gotta be up out of the way. Of course, with my lift and a baby seat in the middle, I've never had a great view out the rear anyway!

10 lives on that Bumper, Eh Kim?

My old D2 bumper started showing signs of flex and movement before it finally let go. But lucky for me, the Duct tape fairy came to help so I could drive home. Back the ranch, I pulled the 2 bolts out and the bumper just fell off. All of those plastic clips are basically useless.
