Anybody out there with a trashed LT-230 transfer case? I'm looking for a speedometer drive gear. I know this belongs in the "Wanted" section, so here's my tech... Pre-fuel injected RRC's (greymarket), though having the same transfer case as the pre-'89 NAS', use different speedometer drive gears. Well...I'm assuming the gear dimensions are the same, but the interface with the speedo cable is a different size: the pre-fuel injected RRC's using a thicker speedo cable (0.115" versus the 0.100" later cables...yes that 0.015" is a large enough difference). Additionally, with the change to the BW transfer case in '89, the speedo cables didn't change...until '90 when the upper cable was dropped in favor of an electric speedometer. Anyway...that's my tech. Who should care? I dunno...but I sure find the info useful. Somebody tell me they have a speedo-drive gear they want to send me...preferably from an '87 or '88. |
