Guys,

I am trying to go from stock size tires to 265/75 R16 and I would like to know if a body lift of 1" would be suficient? if so, are there any inexpensive alternatives? I would really like to minimize modifications on my disco!!

Jorge, for that amount of lift, spacers would be OK. Plus, noone currently makes a body lift for a DII. For what it's worth, alot of people run 265's on their DII without any lift. Depending on the brand of tire, you may get slight rubbing on the leading edge of your airdam. If you plan on offroading, you'll probably want to trim that anyway.

yes, I have a stock suspension. By the way brian, I decided to wait on the Range Rover. sorry I did not call you last week!

Greg, what brand of tires do you recommend? would I have to trim if I use the spacers?

Jorge,

I am not aware of a body lift for the DII,

You should just do a mild OME lift of 2" or spacers and they will fit great, both suspension lifts and spacers are easy to install compared to a body lift. Body lifts are a PITA and then you have to deal with a space between your bumpers and the body, and in my opinion they look like CRAP.

But that is just my opinion

Jorge, I can't reccommend a tire without knowing what you plan on doing with your rig. I'm running Yokohama Geolander AT Plus II's and love them. They have performed well in everything except the deepest of mud.

As far as spacers go, send me an e-mail if that's what you're interested in. With 1" spacers you won't need to trim anything to run 265's.

I'm with Greg, 1" spacers will get you the space you'll need to the 265/75's. Greg forgot to mention that he's running 285/75's with about 4" of lift while I'm running the same tire with 2" of lift...I'm really impressed with the yoko's in snow, we've averaged about 6" of every day for the last week and I've had no control problems...

Greg,

I usually do mild off roading (once a month). here in El Paso Texas is mainly sand hills that I go to, but I also go to the high mountains in Chihuahua. I am looking for an all terrain tire that would look ok for a Disco. I believe that some tires go with certain vehicles as fas as looks go.

where can I get the 1" spacers?

thank you for all the help guys!!!

i plan to run that same size tire as well...but have not purchased them yet.

by the way...i climb at hueco tanks a few times a year. if i ever drive out to el paso instead of flying (from dallas) i will give you a call and maybe we can hit some trails...

I just installed some 1" spacers from Mike Ku. Get the front ones with the front shock relocation brackets. The website says its for D1, RRC, and Defenders, but I think they will probably work for DII, might check with him. Or you could make some yourself, look in the tech section.

On the D2 you might try loosening your lower air dam and seeing if it's pulled all the way out. I would also suggest that you take a look at the Bridgeston Dueler Revo AT's. I just got that tire for my rig. It's a fairly new tire and it's got a great look on the D2. I've had lots of compliments from my fellow rover friends.
