My truck was attempted to be broken into about an hour ago at a night club in downtown Seattle. I go out there and the doorlock on the driver side was missing. With just my luck my alarm remote broke early that day when I dropped my keys so I was manually locking and unlocking with the key. Anyway I try to open it up from the passenger side door and the alarm goes off finnaly I got the truck started and got home and couldn't lock the damn truck. I was wondering if I pulled the fuses for the alarm and doorlocks if I would be able to lock the door manually than shut the door without them unlocking? Will I have to replace the hole door handle or or just the lock itself? It looks like it was pulled out clean with not much damage. The truck is a 96 D1 |

Prescottj: E-mail me and I will send a zipfile of the apropriate pages from the workbook. The lock actuator that locks/unlocks the door electrically also sets the alarm. I won't go into the rest on an open board. Bill M. |

Prescott, I live in Seattle (Northend) I have tools, service manual, and a drive way if you need help email me. There are a number of parts yards in the area. It sounds like they got the tumbler which sucks. Probly get a used one and take the key and lock and have them set the tumblers. JK |

I don't mean to post the obvious but I remember my 97 disco having an external door lock on the back door. Wouldn't you be able to lock the doors that way? I am sure that my memory has failed me and there probably isnt a doorlock in the back door. |

The driver's side door is the only lock that locks em all and sets the alarm . the back door and passenger door locks don't unlock them all just that door only |

Currently the way I have to lock it is open the drivers side window then close the door push the lock down. unlock passenger side door with key, roll window up then get out and lock passenger side door with key. So the Disco alarm is not set but it's locked. It's a huge PITA and I'm gonna try to find a tumbler this week. |
