SO its damn cold here in the north east, damn bitter cold. This morning my truck was running less then lets say well. It actually stalled twice, once at idle and once coming from 2nd to 1st slowing down, and actually another time in neutral. The truck is carburated, could it be that I am running to lean a mixture for the fridged air temps? Or is there anyone out there who wants to tell me its something else that will force me to open my wallet. |

Hi Paul, I'm going to assume that the truck was fully warmed up when you had these troubles. Proceeding from that perspective, maybe your idle speed is a little too low. On the other hand, if the engine was not quite up to optimal operating temperature maybe you need to use the choke a bit longer. I know that I engage the choke fully to get my truck started and then over the first few miles gradually disengage it. I still haven't forgotten about hitting the trails. When John C. gets back to me I'll let you know about that trail 70 miles north of the GWB. Good luck, Paul |
