All,

This is my first post. Heaps of info on this site which is so helpful!!

I want peoples opinion on rasing a disco. I have the OME 2" lift on it and want more!!! I dont mind having to make modifications to the bodywork.

Is a 2" body lift the way to go. I really want to get about 4" total lift.

I have seen a 4x4 mag with a Disco in Australia that is about 4" high (body and susp mods) an it rocks!!!

i have a D1 w/ ome hd and the 2" body lift
i fit 255/85's with a little trimming,
you would probably have to get the 2" body lift and 1" spacers for a total of a 4" lift.
the OME HD i beleive only does about 1.25~1.5.

Try too the cut out wheel arches that DAP sells.
Sadly for $200 more than ECR did but that will give you plenty of space for 33s 34 are getting tight...

There is an archive of how to cut out the wheel wells of the D1 and add fender flares. It looks pretty time consuming, but not a lot of skill is needed (just have to be able to cut a straight line). That might fix the need for bigger tires - it gives an extra 2-3 inches in fender clearance.

I personally don't have the guts to take a pair of tin snips to my D.

Same here, I think I will be at the Panel shop to get the fender cut. What happens around the door arch, does that need to be cut as well? If so that means that there will be a hole and the panel will be weaker. I know that the flare covers the hole but. ideas?
