I have been told all the warning lights should come on at start-up then go off. Well I have no check enginge light at all. When I start it up or shut it down. Neve a check engine light. It will not pass smog if the light is off all the time, or if it is on all the time. Help, what is wrong????? Why isnt it coming on at all? Could it be as simple as a fuse? or maybe needs to be reset? Maybe a bad bulb? Maybe it is more seriouse like a bad computer? aahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Sounds more like a burnt out bulb. You could have your codes checked (if 96 or older at Autozones for free) to see if the computer is linking correctly.

Thx Corey, Has anyone else had this problem? Is it a bulb or a computer issue? or something else? Anyone. Another Question, does Autozone really have the stuff to do a free check on a 96?

OK Here we go. The dealer has bent me over and taken me for a ride. I just took the dash apart and found out that there is no check engine bulb at all. So I put a new bulb in the empty socket and started the car. Now the CHECK ENGINE light is on, "ALL THE TIME". I have had my car for almost 16 months and the check engine light has been missing for that long. In reality the light was on the whole time, I just didnt know it because the light was missing. So i disconected the negative terminal to try and reset the check engine light. Guess what, it is still on. NOW WHAT?

That is shit. Bring it to the place you bought it and they should pay for the light and to diagnose the problem. It should have been checked prior to selling to you.
Go get 'em!
