Which of the Off-Road DVD's in the DWeb store has the least amount of swearing and adult themes ect. I would rather not spread the cheer to my kids if they watch it. Yes, I am a prude.

Snowman,
We've got both the Back East and Moab DVDs and I don't really remember much swearing on either one. The background noise is sort-of muted and most of the time you only hear Axel's narration. I would say the Back East one would be best for the kids...except for one scene when George's RRC blew a seal! :-)

But, they are both fun to watch, heck..just mute it!

Snowman,
I've got kids too, understand where you're coming from.
But, your kids have never heard you say...?
.."that (insert foul abusive language) Rover ...(your choice again)...
1. Has a new leak
2. Won't start
3. Cost a fortune to repair
4. Is the best (explicit) vehicle I've owned.

Jack :-)

Kyle- I appreciate your thoughts. My 4 year old already says "Shit" when she drops a Leggo and we are tring to break her of the habit. I am considering a leghold trap with voice recognition. Do they have those in Utah?

Jack-You nailed it with your post.

damn, TPH...that's funny about droppin the leggo.

I watched one of the vids with my 6-year old nephew, and he said, "Uncle Bill, they swear just like you do." I didn't quite know what to make of that.

TPH,

I have Back East and there is very little swearing that I heard. Some of it is quite faint and hard to make out. I'd consider it "kid" friendly.

along the same lines with content questions:

I saw the hole in the rock video and enjoyed the action but wished there was more commentary or at least yelling. Do any of the videos have more running chit chat e.g.

"this is kyle aka KVT in his white disco. Kyle's disco has ome suspension and arb lockers front and rear blah blah blah. In his spare time kyle likes to fab his own bumpers. Let's watch kyle cruise/bungle this hard line. Kyle's personal heros include carter simcoe and bart simpson and his favorite hobby is giving friendly advice about winches. Ooooh good technique there kyle, way to use John Lee's excellent spotting!"

I'm very curious about the equipment that people are running and the technique they are using. I'm not saying it should be instructional but it would be neat to have the discoweb bbs aspect to go along with the action. you could always make it an option to turn off the narration. Do any of the DVDs have more chatter? Could they in the future?

just a thot.

Living in Utah all I can say about swearing is you "freaking" guys think that on your videos you can "gosh darn" get away with anything. I mean "dang it" my "mother hugging" senses get all "freaked up" with swearing that goes on in these videos. "Shot" we hear enough "dang" swearing to "burn the prophets ears" on regular Tv, now from dweb too? "Jesus, Joesph and Mary" I don't know how much more I can take ...

On another sad note, the state is trying to put laws up right now that would cover up "indecent" magazines like Maxum, Cosmo, RedBook, FHM, etc at stores so that people won't be offended by the woman in those little naughty outfits. If that doesn't make you wonder about Utah, they also raised the sin tax, opps I mean the beer and booze tax.

Andy, wishing Utahns would just relax.

On a good note. Wheeling on sundays is great, all the trails are empty as all the good people are in church.

I just watched Back East today while putting together a lady-bug rocker for my baby - not much in the way of bad language. Hole in the Rock has less from what I remember.

Jack, that's a great idea to talk about technique. I am still confused as to when to try to crawl up or through or over something and when to just power through or over.

Maybe a compilation DVD could be made on technique for newbies.

Jack your idea is a pretty cool one. "They" could add a narrative track to the DVDs, a la Mystery Science Theatre. Might be quite humourous...

yeah yeah!
this could be done retroactively now. doesn't have to be spontaneous along the way although that's good too.
How about it guys? Will you add the MST3K factor to the DWEB video series. You could do a re-release box set. Could be a way to trick people into buying the same movie all over again!
