More and more dashboards come in the blue color (volkswagen, volvo, etc.,etc.). Now I am wondering if it is possible to turn the green lights in my Disco 300 TDI type I '99 from green into blue.... What should I do and how?? Thanks Goswin. Goswin @ AZET.com |

Were you a Rice Boy prior to your disco? Take it to your local import speed zone and they'll hook you up with all kinds of FX's Don't forget the neon lights on the bottom and the black light interior. Seriously if you want it they sell colored bulbs at Autozone. rip dash off replace bulbs. Get a 2inch to 6inch exhaust adaptor to add your new exhaust tip and don't forget your honda V-tech engine sticker for the back. |

Come on... Don't be silly... I don't know if you have ever been behind the steering wheel of a car with a blue dashboard light. But I can tell you it is more relaxing than the awful green color and besides that I also a a VDO navigation set in my car and guess what.... the color of that display is also blue blue blue blue blue No without kidding, I love the LandRover the way it is and I sure do NOT want to make a REAL DISCO out of it... |

You can buy blue bulbs at pep boys and replace the exsisting ones that are behind your dash.

I had a VW Passat, and my sister has a Jetta. I prefer the blue to the green any day of the week (especially Sundays). I am not, nor ever have been a rice boy. When I modified my 85 VW Scirocco, the 1.8 had a much meaner and deeper sound than the Disco 3.9 V8, and I was only runing a 2 inch exhaust all the way back, no fart pipe. The sound came from the high compression pistons, Jacob's ignition, racing cam, ported and polished intake, headers, 6-speed yes custom 6-speed transmission, and a straight pipe to a 2chamber Flowmaster. That 1.8l 4 cylinder had more hp (albiet not torgue)than the 3.9. So before you go around bashing people about being ricers, I would drive around in a car that has the blue dash lights and see for yourself why people put them in.

For what it's worth. My wifes A4 has red with offwhite on the tach and speedo. She used to have one of those blue jetta dashes. I thought the jetta dash washed out to much at night city driving. But the Audi's dash is soothing and the best on never washing out in any condition. To bad my garmin is greenish white back ground My $.02 Andy |

Rice Boy= car w/ no engine mods + stickers and exhaust I did'nt call anyone a rice boy I simply suggeted a few mods in addation to the blue lights. And gave him the soulution. Who says I haven't drove a car that has blue lights and what you do with your 85 VW I could care less. I personally don't change it unless if it is going to contribute to helping me on the trail. No offense to Blue from AZ ;-) |

I had a 88 16v scirocco, rover wannabe. I had it set up for solo 1 and 2 racing. My mods sound close to yours. I had a noisy farting car way before it was cool, of course it was in the name of speed, not fashion. Problem is I don't think a scirocco could flex as much as my discovery I hated the green dash lights in that car, but blue ... hmmm. Spend some time in an Audi, you'll be a red convert. Go for the fire down below! Andy |

All of the lights in my Audi's are red.....Gotta love the red! You can call me Kraut boy = car w/ engine mods and no stickers ;) You could either buy the blue bulbs or some blue sleeves, they look like mini condoms. Make sure that the number are everything that lights up isn't tinted green or you will have a mess. |

My BMW's are red and I'll second (or third) the red comment. I love the red and it's easier on the eyes. But I don't think it's worth the trouble to change over myself. |
