The back seat rattles so much, it's driving me crazy! This just started. When I put the seat in it's up-right position, it seems like it's not clipped in correctly. Is it just wear and tear and could I just replace the clip (or what locks it together) that's mounted on the side panel? |

this will be an attempt to tell you what i did with my DII... while in the cargo area of the truck, you can see that there is a trim panel that extends from both sides toward the center. part of the left side of the left seatback and the right side of the right seatback is obscured by this panel. if (while in the cargo area) you grab the headrest, you can move the seat fore and aft, causing a rattle. i used some rubber feet for chairs or tables to fill the space between the seatback and the spacer so that there is no longer any play between the two and therefore, no rattle. or you can just leave your seatbacks in the down position. i hope that made sense, as i will be out of town through monday...good luck. |

In my Disco2 I "dynamatted" the trim piece on the back of the rear seats, as I had a rattle between the back trim and the frame of the rear seat cushion. Dynamat seemed to take care of the problem. No more rattles when on the trail or when my subwoofer hits. |

Hell, maybe you need an alignment? If its secured in place, and its the seat, I don't know what it would be. |

I had that same annoying back seat rattle.(disco I)I took it back to dealer. Quick fix, I had lost the stop rubber near locking Mechanism on one side. Check yours. |

I had the same issue on my 94 D1 and all I did was wrap duct tape around the post that interfaced with the Hook (clip) and all was well. |

Erik, I ran into something like your talking about. Mine actually rattled every time I hit a small bump in the road. Check your seat belt mounts in the floor. One of mine had come loose and I tightened it back up and the noise has not come back. And my disco is a '98 LSE as well. Mike |

Is this the "squeak" rattle that comes at every bump in the road? I've just about lost my mind over this one - will try the fix suggested, thanks! e |

Erik, the tried and true way of fixing it is to yank one of the mudflaps and toss it under the seat. Or if you believe in mudflap magic, join a land rover trail run, and you may get one for free.
