Since I bought my baby, I have put on 28k miles and was wondering, how often do you replace breaks? I'm no mechanic that for sure, but was wondering if there is a time line before I one day there are no breaks.

Erik,

When you replace your brakes depends highly on how you drive your vehicle. Mine, for example, were replaced by me at about 28k, while one of my friends were down to nothing in about 17k miles. Also, if you are driving a D2, and you use it offroad, count on them wearing out faster because of the ETC doing some of the automatic braking for you.

As a general rule of thumb, once they start squealing or feeling not quite right, it is time to take a look at them. Replacing them is EASY. Go to the Expedition Exchange website, and they have an article that will have you changing your pads in about an hours time...and a hell of a lot cheaper than what the dealer will charge you.

Any questions, let me know.

Jess

Thanks! Ya, I've never touched the break since I bought it. 1998 LSE with 105k and bought it with 77k. The only time if feels funny is when I slide in the snow. I should have them looked at. Thanks Guys!
