I'm considering buying my brother-in-laws 2001 D2 with 16,000 miles from him at the dealer trade in ($20,000) but have hesitations. The price seems to good to pass up but I'm not sure how easy the D2's are to work on versus the D1. I'm rather 'in-tune' with my truck now and am wondering how diffent or complex the D2 is. I never really looked at them closely to see. Anyone make the change from a D1 to a D2 and if so, are you glad or not. My D1 only sees light trail rides so the CDL is not of major importance although I like it. Thanks for any feed back. John | ||

I'd keep the D1...You never know when you might want CDl...at least I've found I needed it in the strangest of places and situations. Besides, 16K can buy a WHOLE LOT of cool stuff for a Disco one....I say keep on the D1 since your in tune with it, your experienced with it, and you can get good kit for the money you'd spend on a truck with a big butt....(sorry D2 guys, had to..lol) | ||

At that price I would keep the D1 and buy the D2. I don't know what your finances are like but make the D2 a daily driver and your D1 a trail rig. Once the D2 warranty runs out start modding it out. But it's all up to you, sounds like a sweet deal for the D2 plus you know the 1st owner so you can beat the shit out of him if it is a lemon |
