Sounds like a Milton novel, eh?

Last night, I replaced the cap and rotor on the Disco... I don't know why it was necessary, the one replaced only had 42K on it!

This morning, it was as though I was driving a different vehicle! It actually accelerated! I burned less fuel (albeit measured by movement of the gauge) on the entire route to work this morning than I burned from the half-way gas station home last night.

I think I'll put off the new oxygen sensors for another 100K to be absolutely sure they need to be replaced!

Peace,
Paul

No, I should be well into the third set!

I have had the opportunity to extinguish the light twice since I've owned the truck, once at 103K and again at 155K. Now that it is running well again, I don't feel the urgency to do the diagnostics on the sensors, but will if for no other reason than the exercise and to determine the actual operating characteristics of the sensors.

Yes, pre-96 Rovers only had the single pair of sensors.

Steve:
NO!!!!!! I'd rather do the heads again rather than tackle that project. When we did it on my brother in law's Rangie, I made him remove the old one just so he'd appreciate me more. Not sure it worked. It's great fun when he gets mad and starts swearing in Serbian.

Maybe when I replace the O2 sensors, I'll do the fuel filter too. 250K miles seems about right.

Peace,
Paul
