Pls help about front brakes

Just change my front brake pads on my 95 Disco and now my brakes smells funny. Like a burning smell. Is this normal because my pads are new. Pls help. Thanks.... But it wouldn't hurt to check to see they aren't draging. Jack up the wheel, have someone press on the brakes and let go. The wheel should lock up then go free. If it feels like the brakes are draging then you might have a sticky caliper.
