I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could take a picture of the Ignition Amplifier Module and post it up here. I'm diagnosing a starting problem, and I'm trying to walk through the rover workshop manual. I get a 12 volt reading from positive battery terminal to negative coil while ignition is off, which the manual says should be zero. I get a reading of zero when I turn the ignition on, which is what it should be. I have a coil on order from a local parts store, so I should have that in by monday, but I have read one previous problem which had very similar problems, and he ended up replacing the ignition amplifier. I called the local dealer and they said that part is $199. Looking at the distributor I only see the little horn, and another offshoot that has 2 wires(red/blue) running into it, it's about 2 inches long .5 inch wide, and I cant believe this would be the 199 part. Anyhow, thanks for the help |

No one has a pic? I'm thinking I may have a different distributor setup. If no one replies in the next day, I'll post a pic of my setup and see if I can get some feedback there. |

If it's an NAS Disco, it is on the bracket that holds the coil to the radiator support. The bracket holds the coil, the condenser and the amplifier. |

Rob, your post was the one I was referring to, that's why the amplifier was suspect. I'll keep you aprised with what's going on, thanks again. |
