so anyone know what the story is?? Weird placement of the truck at the bottom of the hill (especially since there is not damage to the drivers side) when you look at how far up the hill he is in some of the other pics

well..... on second thought I guess I know what the story is: Guy has more truck than sense and doesn't know when to back back down the hill. :-)

Up to that point, looks like ETC vs 3 diff locks was a draw - depending upon driver.
Unless...ETC pulled his front around on the climb?

Give the driver's edge to the G. for letting the Disco go first!

I doubt if anything could get up that hill without a huge fast run up. Except maybe a hummer.

That does not look that bad. Diff lock probably would have got him up.

I think someone just hit the brakes on the way down.

Something has made it up that hill or there wouldn't be a road there.

Probably an H2!

What is the story there anyway? Great pics, but I am missing thw fine details.
Fill us in...

>Guy has more truck than sense and doesn't know when to back back down the hill.<

I think that should read "doesn't know how". They also don’t seem too concerned about the damage done to the vehicle. Guess its no big deal when its dad’s money.

Also look at the tires, the rover has lugged tires, better for mud, but lacking when it comes to rock climbing or climbing uphill on a hard packed surface. The G is better equipped for the wheeling their doing.

insurance covers whatever you can do if you have full coverage, of course nothing says they can't non-renew your ass after they pay out.

Looks like the DII classic failed hill climb: reverse down the hill with no CDL, hit the brakes and turned the wheel to make the little turn, front tires locked up and caught something at an already awkward angle. Looks really slow speed though given no windows blew out on the downhill side.

That hill is doable, I went pretty fast to go up it the first time, but after that have gone up slower. I have also failed when attempting to crawl up it. I have backed down on a failed attempt, but you must come straight down (which I do not believe he did since he is very far to the left of the actual trail).

i'd like to know what the Jeep owner was thinking when he built an external roll cage and just bolted it to the body...... it was impressive to see someone actually using a brand new G on the trail.
