It's time for new tires and instead of 235/85/16's I would like to install 255/85/16's. I currently have 245/75/16 and OME HD on all corners. I traded a couple of emails with Rovertym and John reccommended installing a 3" lift and spacers or custom 5" springs. This seems a bit extreme for 33" tires, I would like to know what other options are out there before I make the leap. Thanks Mike |

RT 3" springs will not allow for enough clearance to run 32-11.50/15's on American Racing rims without "significant" trimming plus bump stop lengthening... You can fit any tire you want if you are not afraid of removing that pesky extra Sheetmetal... Seems that 5" is about right fro 33" tires |

Thanks Keith, do you currently run this set up? I plan on using the stock alloy rims, so 245/75 is 31x10 and I have not needed any triming. The 235/85 is 32x10, if I retain the same suspension set up I know there will be some minimal triming and I can retain the same bump stops. So the question still remains, why such a drastic lift for 33x10 tires? |

You can run 255/85 with just the standard OME lift...check out Scott Bowden's Photo Gallery |
