Weld the doors shut, ala dukes of hazard style, then you can go wading REALLY deep |

I hear that if you paint a rebel flag on the roof that will help as well. "Look at that girl with the Daisy Dukes on!" Seriously though, get youself some white lithium spray lube and shoot all your hinges/mechanisms before its too late.

It's not a problem, it's a FEATURE. It's LR's new prototype barometer/humidity gauge. You know the old saying, "Won't open in the morning, sailors take warning. Won't open at night, sailor's delight." If your radio lights go out, expect tornados. |

I suggest getting a large Hex Key and manipulating the catch (the round metal protrusion that is connected to the door jam. I would recommend moving the catch slightly towards the outside of the vehicle, i.e. moving it backwards if you working from the outside of the vehicle. Be very careful not too move it too much. Perhaps a slight up or down movement may be required. To loosen, just use the hex key and turn it CCW just enough so the unit has some play. You don't want to loosen it too much otherwise you will lose your original position. For this I recommend taking a marker pen and noting the original placement just in case. If this does not work, you may need to shim in/out the unit depending on how the mechanism engages. To see how it engages, clean off all the grease, etc. on there and apply some white lithium grease to the door mechanism. Close the door, then open and note where on the catch the grease is located. Hope this helps. Sorry, I never realized that this write-up would take this long. |
