I have searched the archives and cant find. I know I have seen discussions on this before.
I have called around and can’t find the elusive wiring for the trailer. Are there any problems associated with not using the Land Rover issue or does any general harness work? Will I create any electrical issues by doing this?

David,
Try calling Land Rover North America. You can call 201 818-8500. The wiring harness just does not exist. Spend $80.00 and get one from Atlantic British. It's a direct plug in and I've had no problems with it.
If you complain to LR, they might pay for the harness for you. They did it for me after I caled and asked the to locate the part for me.

Does the AB one plug into the LR plug in the back behind the light?

I know its a d2, but the Uhaul harness was like 14 bucks., It might be worth a shot. I would imagine its all the same, in terms of wires going to the tail lights.

the article is in the tech section

The one I bought from Atlantic British plugs right in. It took longer to unscrew the cover than to install the harness. I am very happy with the quality of the part and Atlantic British's service.

Ditto here... Got the 4 plug flat harness with the inline converter from AB and plugged right into the harness behind the passenger taillight then just took it through the gasket in the bottom of the chassis. Works great! The converter adjusts the running lights and brake lights so they work independently. I have a Jeep Cherokee that I just put a regular 4 flat plug on without a converter and my signals spaz every time I hook up my trailer to it. Buy the plug from AB - I paid $55.

or, you might be able to splice in the Uhaul harness, for 14 dollars and 20 min of your time.

Like i said, im not sure if its the same on a d2, but in my mind, its worth a few min of my time and splicing 4 wires, than the 55 bucks

I installed a generic converter on my DII with no ill effects. It just converts seperate turn and brake lights into one line coming out into the flat 4 connector. I think it was $12 from local auto parts store (Pep Boys for me).
