Trouble getting third gear, stick doesn't seem to spring to correct position anymore.

Any idea's, vehicles done about 110K miles

You have the LT77 or LT77s gearbox, which should shift good around third gear.
First of all - when did you last renew its ATF oil? Supposed to be renewed once a year you know...
Then it's a question whether it is the gears or the shifter. If it's the shifter, theres some springs which can be adjusted once you pull the center console, then remove the gearlever housing. Check book on this. Should be easypeasy if it's this spring causing you trouble. If it's worn synchrohubs/gear, you will have to live with it until you purchase a reconditioned box!

Many thanks, it feels to me like the selctor so will have a go as you suggest.
