Just blew out my rear on Disco I. Since I need to replace it I am going to put in a locker. I don't know which kind to get. With a detroit do you hear it clicking alot? Is the Arb just too much to hook up (Harder). I live in Pa. should I go with the Arb because of the snow and ice? should I do the front? |

Aaron, I have a Detroit in the rear of my DII. The only time I hear it is when I'm making slow tight turns. Other than that, it's been pretty invisible for me. I love the strength and simplicity of the Detroit. |

Aaron, I run arb both ft and real. Definatly consider the maintnance points. The more working parts you have the more risk of failure, but I would use arb again because I like selectable lockers. Too me the bennfit far out weighs the risk. |

i had a detroit in the rear and it got squirmy on the snowy roads, dont know if it was because of the detroit or the skinny tires or both , but other than that it was a delight. rob pittsburgh, pa |

i put a truetrac in the front and a detroit locker in the back.might have been ok had both been truetrac.i use the vehicle on road for towing quite alot.doing a diff, might want to think about gears.great basin rovers is where i purchased mine.bill can help you in your quest.you just need to be realistic about your use of the truck to get the proper set up. |

I just put in a detroit in the rear of my 97 disco. I can't event tell it is there on the road as long as the center diff is unlocked. I have a big hill in my front yard. Sometimes I have to show my friends I can climb it. When I hit the pavment in 4 low and turn it sounds like the rear end is about to come out. But I would not trade it for anything. |

I'm running a TT's in the Front and Rear...We've had 140" of snow this year and I've had no problems...I have about 30k on them and have no complaints...Lots of different terrain, everything from the deserts of Cali, Moab, the most boring part of Canada and everything in between...2001 DII with 4.11 and HD half shafts in the rear...
