I've got a '00 SE7 with the HK factory stereo and I like the way it sounds for the most part. But what I'd really like is to install the Pioneer AVH-P7480DVD unit in the dash. I don't suppose the upgrade is as simple as installing it in place of the factory head unit is it? I'm asusming they don't make a wiring kit but beyond that, will the factory amps and speakers play nicely with the Pioneer head unit (45wx4)? I assume I'll have problems with the Steering wheel controls? I'm not worried about loosing the 6 disk changer but I'd like the wheel controls and it needs to sound as good as it does now. John-I have decided to go with the P7480DVD also. It came in this morning and they are installing it tomorrow. A custom instalation kit will most likely have to be made since we haven't found any company that makes one. As far as the HK system and amps and all...I'll let you know. The steering controls are pretty tricky. My friend wired up his H2 so he can use his steering controls to operate Navi (also voice command), dvd and 4 screens. Pretty nicely how it all worked out. Hopefully I will have some luck with the install and it will look clean. I'll post tomorrow how it goes. |
