My 1999 Disco I is having some missing isses. It drives along fine at 55-60 however when I am driving at highway speeds and someone gets in front of me and I take my foot of the gas it starts to have problems. When I push back down on the gas after taking my foot off the gas it starts to miss.

To fix the problem I have to pull to the side of the road. When I do this the rpms drop to around 500 (normally closer to 750 at a good idle) it misses once or twice and then goes back up to the regular 750. After that I can floor it and it drives along fine for a while...

The check engine light came on when this started happening. When it first started the problem seemed more random then just taking foot off gas so I gave it a tuneup. Plugs and wires and air filter. I bought a new fuel filter but have not had a chance to change it due to the bad weather.

I am thinking possible issues.

Fuel Filter(not that likely but I alread have it)
Fuel Pressure regulator(my best guess)
Thottle position sensor
Vechile Speed sensor.

Anyone have an opinion? The check engine code that I get is missing on multiple cylinders.

Sounds like you have a stuck exhaust valve due to carbon build up. They have a tendency to stick in one postions over time due to these vehicles being prone to carbon build up.

The check engine light will show misfires and a possible O2 sensor code. I am betting VSS call Nathan at Discount Rovers.
